How to Make Award Ribbons – Pleating
I was recently speaking with a customer and she remarked that her and her show competitors really liked the quality of our ribbons.
However, she didn’t realize the difference until she held one of our ribbons and a previous supplier’s ribbon in her hands and “felt” the difference. She said our ribbons felt much fuller and more “substantial”.
I explained that part of this was due to the amount of ribbon we used in each rosette during pleating. As an award ribbon manufacturer, we have chosen to do what is considered a very tight and full pleat on all our rosettes, even our quick ship award ribbons. This provides a thicker rosette that is not only more durable, it also has significant eye appeal. And, award quality is one of the first things that competitors notice at competitions. When the competitor receives a quality award ribbon, it is displayed and cherished and keeps competitors talking about your event and coming back again and again.
